Cozy little place, makes you feel like your're somewhere in SOHO or the village. Place is definitely small with about 14 tables,no more than 50 seats. Open floor style, you can see the kitchen from any table. 2 waitresses/waiters and a hostess. 3 parking spots on the front but a lot more in back of the building.Small menu with about 10+ items for breakfast and 10+ items for lunch, didn't see any alcoholic options in the menu. Food was delivered quick and taste wise was good. I had to ask for a coffee refill twice. When i order soda a can of coke was given to me,so im guessing no free refills?. Orange juice was from a carton of OJ. Brunch for two with coffee and soda no appetizer and two entrees,"southwest eggs" and "eggs with french toasted" was $37.50 plus tip. They DO need a sign at the entrance "WAIT TO BE SEATED".Also CASH or DEBIT ONLY. Overall not a bad experience. I would probably visit again.
We were a group of 11 nurses on 9-20 at 12:30. The place was busy. It was very LOUD! There is nothing to absorb the noise. The outside area was closed due to the chance of rain. I got coleslaw which tasted very good but it was served in a cup. I had to eat it like spaghetti. Why???
Hostess to busy to seat us, so stood by restroom doors waiting, and moving and moving. Lesson, don't use the entrance near the parking lot. Finally got seated, with menus, no silverware on table. Waited and waited for waitress and had to flag down the hostess for coffee. Waitress finally showed up with the coffee, until then, I hadn't even seen her on the floor. No silverware, we asked and had to borrow it off a nearby table. She took our order, which arrived in good time, only the spinach requested in the omelette was forgotten and had to ask for syrup for the french toast. We refused to have it re-cooked as it would have meant re-cooking both and waiting even longer. During all this, I saw no evidence of anyone assuming the role of a manager or head-waiter. 5 stars for the chef, 1 star for management and service. May go back after the summer college kids aren't waiting tables. Sunday morning, July 2
Awesome spot. Love this place! Great food & amazing service
Similar food to Maureen's, which started it all, but a different atmosphere. Both have extraordinary pancakes and do wonderful thing with eggs; service is friendly at both. Javier's is smaller, has a more "sophisticated" look to it, and has a lovely outdoor seating area. I prefer it since it has a quieter, less frenetic feel to it.
